Band Scholarship(s)

If you are interested in instrumental music, Cowley College is for you. Cowley has three instrumental ensembles:

  • Concert Band — The Concert Band is our large performing ensemble and is open to all students by audition. This group performs a wide variety of literature and presents concerts at least twice per semester.
  • Jazz Band — The Jazz Band is a smaller ensemble open to all students by audition and performs a broad range of jazz literature. They also present concerts at least twice per semester as well as other performances both on and off-campus.
  • Tiger Beat — Tiger Beat, the Cowley College Pep Band, is open to all students by audition. It plays at various home and away sporting contests as well as other college events. With a repertoire consisting of well know rock, funk, and pop charts, Tiger Beat will help provide a fun atmosphere and promote school spirit.

Transfer Options: The Music Program at Cowley has established transfer articulation agreements with most four-year institutions in Kansas and Oklahoma. Students completing the two-year music program can finish a bachelor's degree in music without repeating courses. In most cases, the transfer student has a stronger theory background than that of a student who is completing the first two years at a four-year institution. Smaller class size allows more one-to-one contact between students and instructors.
