Music and lyrics for “9 to 5” were composed by Dolly Parton and the book which was written by Patricia Resnick, is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie. Set in the late 1970s, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic. Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss (Hart). In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy, and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains "otherwise engaged," the women give their workplace a dream makeover.
The musical will be performed May 7-8 at 7:30 p.m. The Cowley College Foundation Dinner and Show will be offered on May 8 with dinner beginning at 6 p.m. Also, on Saturday, May 9, there will be a 2 p.m. matinee offered.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $8 for children, or those with a Military ID. Cowley College students and employees will be admitted free with a Cowley ID. The cost of the dinner and show combo is $15 or $10 for Cowley students and employees.
