Music Department to present Christmas Vespers December 10 at 2:30 p.m.

Celebrate the holiday season with music by attending the annual Christmas Vespers Concert on Sunday, December 10. The Cowley College Singers and Cowley College Concert Choir will perform traditional Christmas music as will the Concert Band and Jazz Band. There is no cost to attend the event which will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Robert Brown Theatre.

The CC Singers will perform One Voice (by Barry Manilow) and two traditional favorites: I’ll Be Home for Christmas and Carol of the Bells.

The Concert Choir will perform two sacred settings entitled Alleluia and Ubi Caritas (Where charity and love are); Sing We Now of Christmas, a traditional carol; and Canticle of Winter, an original composition and text by Joseph Martin.

“We have beautiful music to share with everyone,” director of vocal music David Smith said. “Our students have worked very hard to prepare for this concert, especially since it is one of the major holiday traditions not only on campus but also in the community.”

Following Vespers, audience members can head to the college’s Earle N. Wright Community Room for a reception hosted by the Cowley College Foundation.
