Nine writers present works at Writers' Corner
The Cowley College Creative Writing program hosted Writers’ Corner Thursday, February 1 with nine writers presenting 20 original works. Cowley students Connor Baxter, Grayson Gorday, Hannah Lyles, Grace Nightingale, and John (J.C.) Pappan were joined by faculty Marlys Cervantes, Ryan Doom and Kyle Hays and VP of Academic Affairs Doc Arnett.
“It was an evening of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and songs,” said Marlys Cervantes, Humanities and Communications department chair and writing program director. “Our audience included family, friends, and former graduates of the program. Our students have a wide support base, and we love to see them come to Cowley.”
Creative Claws will host a talent show on March 8 at 7 p.m. in the Brown Center Theater, and the next Writers’ Corner will be April 19 at 7 p.m. It will be followed by a reception for writing graduates. Anyone interested in the program should contact Cervantes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
