Writers’ Corner held at the Burford Theatre

Cowley College's Creative Writing program hosted their first Writers' Corner for the academic year at the historic Burford Theatre on October 17th with over 50 people present to hear the writers present their works. read more

Bianchini and Qualls named to All-Kansas Academic Team

Cowley College sophomores Priscilla Bianchini and Jeannie Qualls were recently named to the All-Kansas Academic Team. A number of students applied for this honor this semester, and after a competitive application process and series of essays demonstrating their academic achievements, leadership and volunteerism, only two were selected from the Ark City campus. Bianchini and Qualls will be honored locally at the spring induction ceremony and will have their photographs displayed in Galle Johnson, replacing last year’s candidates. They will go on to represent Cowley College at a luncheon in Topeka in March honoring their accomplishments as well. read more

Board approves naming of Cowley College Softball Field in honor of legendary coach

After careful review and consideration of documentation, the naming advisory committee unanimously recommended the Cowley College Softball Field be named the Ed Hargrove Softball Field, in honor of former coach Ed Hargrove, during Monday night's meeting of the Board of Trustees held at the Cowley College Short General Education Center Community Room in Wellington, KS. read more

A double overtime tie has never felt so good. After battling Johnson County to a 1-1 tie Monday afternoon in Overland Park, the Cowley College men's soccer team clinched its second straight Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division title. read more

Placing second in the rugged Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division during the 2018-19 basketball season, the Cowley College men’s basketball team has added some exciting recruits to go along with a pair of returning all-conference players in a quest to compete for the conference title. read more

Instrumental music concert provides enjoyable experience

Being his first year in charge of the band programs at Cowley College, Dr. Michael Christensen is hoping to establish a new, enjoyable music experience for members of the community. Late goals lift Cowley soccer team to 4-3 double overtime victory

The Cowley College men's soccer team got a goal from Antonio Marra with only four minutes left in regulation of Wednesday's game at Neosho County to send the game into overtime. Then, in the second overtime, Lucas Mauro scored the game-winning goal off an assist from Alvaro Gabancho to inch the Tigers closer to a second straight conference title with the 4-3 double overtime win. read more

Lady Tiger volleyball has win streak come to a thud

Winners of 26 matches in a row, the No. 4-ranked Cowley College volleyball team suffered back-to-back losses against ranked Jayhawk Conference foes as they equaled its loss total from the entire season. On Wednesday, Cowley lost at No. 2-ranked Coffeyville 25-18, 25-19, 25-14, before losing a five-set home match against No. 13-ranked Highland 25-20, 25-16, 25-27, 18-25, 12-15 on Friday. read more
