The Mu Alpha Sigma Chi organization and the Natural Science Department at Cowley College in Arkansas City are looking forward to another exciting Math & Science Day event at the school. The event will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7 and will consist of a scholastic competition in the math and science areas for all high school students. read more
The Cowley College men's basketball team suffered through its second straight tough shooting night in a 71-61 loss at Neosho County Wednesday night in Chanute. The Tigers shot only 35.9 percent from the floor and went just 7-of-27 from three-point range. read more
"Linda Hargrove is a pioneer in women’s sports at Cowley College," wrote Cowley College president Dr. Dennis C. Rittle in the summary of the naming committee's recommendation to the Cowley College Board of Trustees. The legendary basketball and volleyball coach left her mark on the college and will be honored for her accomplishments as the Board approved the naming advisory committee's recommendation that the Cowley College Recreational Building located at 617 West Washington Avenue be named the Linda Adams Hargrove Athletic Center. read more
The Cowley College wrestling team battled four teams and three ranked opponents at the Barton County Cougar Duals held Tuesday in Great Bend. The Tigers went 1-3, picking up a 45-9 win over Colby, while losing 48-6 to No. 10-ranked Barton, 26-21 to No. 14-ranked Northwest Kansas Technical College, and 30-17 to No. 21-ranked Pratt. read more
Board of Trustees meeting to be held Tuesday, Jan. 16
The regular monthly meeting of the Cowley College Board of Trustees will be conducted on Tuesday, January 16, in the President’s Private Dining room of the McAtee Dining Center, located at 206 South 4th Street, Arkansas City, KS. Major General Lee Tafanelli and members of his team from the Kansas Army National Guard visited Cowley College's main campus in Arkansas City on Thursday to discuss the opportunity for a long term partnership between the National Guard and the college. read more
Debbie (Adams) Nittler has done a little bit of everything at Cowley College. From excelling as an athlete, coaching, teaching, advising, serving as an assistant athletic director, and running the clock or working the score book at Tiger basketball and volleyball games, there is not much she has not done. In recognition of her efforts, she will be inducted into the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame on January 27, 2018. read more

Joining a Cowley College baseball team that had never won 30 games in the first 22 years of the program’s existence, Toby Anglen helped the Tigers win 70 games and capture their first-ever conference title in his two years at the school. The shortstop/third baseman will be honored for his accomplishments when he is inducted into the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame on January 27, 2018. read more
Graduation for nine students in Cowley College's Paramedic Program was held Wednesday, January 10 in the Earle N. Wright Community Room at the school’s main campus in Arkansas City. The program completed the AAS degree requirements for the graduates. read more
Legendary Cowley College baseball coach Dave Burroughs has accomplished many things during his 30-year career as coach of the Tigers. He has won numerous conference and region titles and guided the Tiger baseball team to back-to-back JUCO World Series titles during the 1997 and 1998 seasons. He has yet to slow down after helping the Tigers to a third place finish at the 2017 JUCO World Series. Recognized for his success, Burroughs was recently notified he was selected for induction into the NJCAA Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame and will be inducted with the Class of 2018 at the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, CO. read more
Gearing up for the spring semester, Dr. Harold Arnett, Cowley College's vice president of academic affairs, conducted a workshop on team-building with employees in the IMPACT Student Support Services TRIO program Thursday morning in the Underground. read more
Over the course of the 2017 fall semester, Phi Theta Kappa students at Cowley College’s main campus in Arkansas City worked on a Honors in Action project in order to maintain its 5 star level status. As part of the project they researched the topic of genetic manipulation. read more
Having had success as a player and assistant coach at Cowley College, Ruy Vaz was recently named the Tiger men's head soccer coach. Roberto Dos Santos, who was the only head coach in the history of the men's soccer program, will transition into being the head women's soccer coach at Cowley College following the recent resignation of previous head coach Dane Straight. read more
