Cowley College will begin offering a new Agriculture program starting Fall of 2018 at the new Sumner Campus in Wellington, KS. The Agriculture program will be an interactive, hands on approach that takes a student from a concept of an idea to the point it reaches the consumer. The Sumner Campus will be a brand new campus that will be growing over the next few years. It is Agriculture Departments goal to educate our students by appreciating our past and embracing the future of Agriculture.
The Ag program will be featuring clubs and competitive teams to enhance our student's experiences and education. If you are tired of the old set in their way Ag programs, then we invite you to come visit and grow with us here in Wellington, Ks. Just remember here at Cowley College Sumner Campus our goal is to feed the world through education.
Cowley College Sumner Campus Agriculture Program is directed by Mr. Buddy Curry, who comes to us with a vast amount of experience in teaching, coaching and industry experience. Mr. Curry's education is as follows:
AS Degree – Northeastern Oklahoma A&M
BS Degree – Oklahoma Panhandle State University
MS Degree – West Texas A&M University
While attending school he participated on numerous competitive judging teams and served in an assistant coaching position at a university.
Mr. Curry, during his career, has taught and coached on both the community college and university level from Texas to Kansas. On top of coaching many competitive teams over the years, Mr. Curry has received many awards including coach of the year and Who’s Who Among American Teachers. He additionally has worked in the Ag industry and USDA which has enhanced his educational career.

- AAS in Farm and Ranch Management
Cowley College will be throwing their hat in the judging ring. In the Fall of 2019 Cowley College will be fielding the first of many judging teams. The college will be recruiting this 2018-19 school year for students that are interested in Livestock judging. The team will be traveling to all the Freshman competitions which totals about eight competitions. For more information, please contact Buddy Curry.
