Troyer receives award at KEMTA conference

Samantha Troyer, Cowley College lead paramedic instructor, recently received the Kansas Emergency Medical Technician Association (KEMTA) Outstanding Instructor/Coordinator award for 2016. She received the award at the annual KEMTA conference banquet on Saturday, February 13.

In addition to her educational acumen, Troyer is fiercely proud of EMS as a profession and strives to impart this passion for excellence to her students. Eleven graduate from Cowley College paramedic program

Eleven graduate from Cowley College paramedic program

Graduation for 11 students in Cowley College’s Paramedic Program was held Monday, October 12 in the Earle N. Wright Community Room at the school’s main campus in Arkansas City. The program completed the AAS degree requirements for the graduates.

The following are the graduating members of the class: Laurel Barrientos, Cassandra Branscum, Seth Burkholder, Billy Dover, Caleb Eytcheson, Tylor Hultgren, James Johnson, Jessica Julius, Keri Korthals, Tanner Rink, and Christie Snyder. Cannon teams with Winfield Fire/EMS to provide community outreach training

Cannon teams with Winfield Fire/EMS to provide community outreach training

Using Cowley College’s specialized equipment, Chris Cannon, EMS Program Director/Allied Health Department Chair, has been working with Winfield Fire/EMS to cooperatively provide continuing education classes to area volunteer fire departments in Burden and Atlanta.

The three hour courses will be repeated at Udall on Monday, August 17 and Cambridge on Tuesday, August 18. They are also planning to offer monthly classes at each department for the foreseeable future. Read more about Cannon teams with Winfield Fire/EMS to provide community outreach training

The Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the EMS Profession recently conducted a site visit at Cowley College’s Allied Health Center in Winfield.
