Cowley College’s Motorcycle Safety Training Educational program provides motorcycle rider education using curriculum developed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) and taught by MSF approved RiderCoaches. The program provides training for beginning and experienced riders.
Whether you're new to riding, or you've been riding for years, we've got a RiderCourse for you!
- Do you want to learn to ride a motorcycle?
- Do you know what the safety acronym “SEE” represents?
- Do you have prior experience riding and want to become an active rider again?
- Are you aware of motorcycle riders around you when you are driving your car?
- Are you an experienced motorcycle rider that wants to enhance your riding skills?
posterWe could go on and on with questions like these. If you don’t already have motorcycle riding experience, we recommend that you do not go out and purchase a motorcycle without taking the motorcycle safety course first. Taking the Basic RiderCourse will help you make an informed decision about whether or not motorcycling is for you.
Whether you are an experienced motorcyclist or a beginner, we firmly believe you should have the knowledge and skills taught in our courses to help keep you safe on the roads.
Without getting into too much detail, here are some things we cover:
Risk awareness, acceptance & management ▪ personal protective gear, maintenance, controls & basic riding skill information ▪ street strategies such as being visible, common riding situations, maximum braking & swerving, special situations and impairment.
Private Basic RiderCourse
A private Basic RiderCourse allows you to complete the same course in an individualized and accelerated environment.
Advanced quick stops, limited-space maneuvers, cornering, quick swerving and avoidance techniques and emergency braking for curves.
