It was a successful turnout for the Kansas Collegiate Quiz Bowl (KCQB) Fall Invitational held Saturday, October 17 via Zoom. The Cowley Collegiate Quiz Bowl team found wins hard to come by, but were led by sophomore KayLynn Prough’s impressive fourth place individual finish. read more
Scott Hennessey, who helped the Cowley College baseball team to back-to-back Junior College World Series titles in 1997 and 1998, has continued to have great success as the manager of the Tulsa Drillers and has spent the 2020 baseball season as a special assistant with the Los Angeles Dodgers. read more
Steve Abrams, who served as the Kansas State Senator from the 32nd District from 2009 until 2017, took part in his first meeting as a member of the Cowley College Board of Trustees during the regularly scheduled monthly meeting held Monday, October 19 in the Earle N. Wright Community Room. The meeting was held in the spacious Wright Room in order to safely increase community access with an approximate gathering limitation of 60 people while maintaining adequate social distancing. The meeting was also live streamed to increase access due to social distancing guidelines. read more
Phi Theta Kappa members of the Cowley College Alpha Gamma Upsilon chapter attended the Fall Kansas/Nebraska Regional PTK Conference October 8-10, 2020. Officers Trevor McDowell, Brianna Dutton, Allie Wright, Adrienne Norris, and Aimee Kozushko, members Anisa Layton and Holly Saguto, and faculty advisors Melinda Neal and Jennifer Rupp participated in the conference virtually to listen to motivational speakers, learn about Phi Theta Kappa, and form connections with new people. read more

The McDowell family name is well known on the Cowley College campus with sisters Jordan and Madison McDowell being the second set of siblings to be crowned Queen Alalah. Both the McDowell sisters were also named Students of the Month during their time at Cowley, while Madison was presented with the 2015 Cowley College Student of the Year Award. The sisters’ brother, Trevor McDowell, has followed in their footsteps as he was recently named the October Student of the Month. read more
Graduation for eight students in Cowley College’s 2019-2020 paramedic program was held October 7 in the Earle N. Wright Community Room at the main campus in Arkansas City. The program completed the AAS degree requirements for these graduates. read more
Having recently won her second race of the season, Cowley College sophomore Lubna Suied was named the NJCAA Division II Female Cross Country Athlete of the Week while also being named the Jayhawk Conference Cross Country Women's Runner of the Week for the second time this year. read more
Cowley College has organized and will participate in two of only seven online Community College Collegiate Quiz Bowl tournaments available at this time. A team from Alabama and teams from Oklahoma are joining the regularly scheduled Kansas tournaments that include Kansas teams from Cowley, Allen, Cloud, Coffeyville, Fort Scott, Garden City, Hesston, Johnson, and Neosho. Dodge City has chosen not to compete this year. read more
