Cowley A Team places first at home quiz bowl competition

Playing a round-robin with 10 teams, Cowley College hosted the Snow Bowl Saturday at its main campus in Arkansas City. The Cowley A team placed first by being the only team to beat Johnson County and complete the round-robin with a win-loss record of 8-0 thanks to sophomores Connor Lancaster – team captain, Amanda Glenn, Jacob Helzer, and Freshman Dylan Stone. Johnson County came in second place with Redlands A coming in third place. read more

Vespers puts people in the holiday spirit

Putting people in the Christmas spirit, members of Cowley College’s Concert Choir, CC singers, and Cowley Concert Band gave inspired performances during the Christmas Vespers concert held Sunday in the Robert Brown Theatre. read more

Golden Tiger enrollment dates set in January

Spring enrollment for classes in the Golden Tigers at Cowley College is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, January 21 in the Earle N. Wright Community Room. Enrollment will also take place from 1-3 p.m. Thursday, January 23 at the Short General Education Center at Cowley College’s Sumner Campus in Wellington. read more

The Cowley College Board of Trustees will gather for an open social dinner at 5:00 p.m. on December 16, 2019 in the President’s private dining room in the McAtee Dining Center, 200 S. 4th, Arkansas City. Getting a career-high 31 points and 15 rebounds from freshman Jayden Marlnee and another 18 points and 10 rebounds from freshman Teagan Brouwer, the Cowley College women’s basketball team slipped past Garden City 112-111 in a triple-overtime thriller Saturday in Garden City. read more

Individuals had an opportunity to view the outstanding work done by Cowley College students during the Life: Through Word and Lens event held Thursday in the Brown Center Gallery Hallway. Along with graphic design, art, and photography, a total of 15 writing students had portfolios displayed at the showcase. read more

Known as a leader in the training room and in the tutor lab, Ainsley Carson was recently named Cowley College’s December Student of the Month. read more

Foster named AVCA All-American

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the 2019 Two-Year College All-America teams on Thursday, December 5. This honor is for all two year schools in the nation that includes players from the NJCAA DI, NJCAA DII, NJCAA DIII, CCCAA (California Community College Athletic Association), and the NWAC (Northwest Athletic Conference) totaling 462 volleyball programs. Players who received All-America honors in each league were put together and voted on to make one of the three All-America teams. Cowley College sophomore Caroline Foster earned AVCA Third All-American honors for her stand out season for the Lady Tigers. read more

Cowley College's Act One Drama Club is busy preparing for its adaptation of Han Christian Andersen's The Snow Queen at 7:30 p.m. December 6 in the Robert Brown Theatre. The story is a classic tale of loyalty, redemption, and love. read more

Candlelight Vespers concert to be held December 8

Celebrate the holiday season with music by attending the annual Christmas Vespers concert on Sunday, Dec. 8. The concert will feature traditional and original Christmas music by the Cowley College Concert Choir, the CC Singers, and Cowley Concert Band. There is no cost to attend the event which will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Robert Brown Theatre. read more

DeSalme earns win number 200 as head coach at Cowley

Just a few short weeks after becoming the all-time winningest coach in the history of the Cowley College men’s basketball program, Tommy DeSalme picked up win number 200 as head coach of the No. 23-ranked Tigers in a 109-78 win over Pratt Community College Wednesday at W.S. Cowley soccer teams dominate the all-conference lists

Recently completing record setting seasons, the Cowley College men and women’s soccer teams dominated the all-conference selections. The Tiger men had the Coach, Player, and Defensive Player of the Year in the Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division, while the Lady Tigers had the Coach of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, and Defensive Player of the Year. read more

Halacheva, Foster named NJCAA Volleyball All-Americans

The Cowley College volleyball team had two players recognized by the NJCAA in being named All-American selections. Freshmen Iva Halacheva was selected First Team All-American and sophomore Caroline Foster was selected Second Team All-American. read more

More than 1,500 students to see Act One’s production of The Snow Queen

Cowley College’s Act One Drama Club was busy performing The Snow Queen in front of more than 780 area elementary students on Wednesday and another 780 students on Thursday in the Robert Brown Theatre. There will be a Friday evening performance open to the public at 7:30. read more

Molaoa signs to play tennis at NCAA Division I Southern University

Coming off a strong fall season, Cowley College sophomore Takalani Molaoa recently signed a letter of intent to continue her tennis career at NCAA Division I Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. read more
