Registration underway for Math & Science Day at Cowley College

The Mu Alpha Sigma Chi organization and the Natural Science Department at Cowley College in Arkansas City are looking forward to another exciting Math & Science Day event at the school. The event will be held Wednesday, Feb. 6 and will consist of a scholastic competition in the math and science areas for all high school students. read more

Tiger wrestling team rallies to win conference opener at Labette

Trailing Wednesday’s conference-opening dual at Labette by scores of 10-0 and 22-11, the Cowley College men’s wrestling team got pins from its final three wrestlers to win 29-21. read more

Tigers get physical in 87-80 win over Neosho

After back-to-back road games against nationally ranked opponents, the Cowley College men's basketball team was glad to return home to W.S. Scott Auditorium to host Neosho County on Wednesday. The Tigers built a 41-30 halftime lead and led by as many as 17 points in the second half before holding on for the 87-80 win. read more

Lady Tigers hit 17 three-pointers in 99-82 win over Neosho

The Cowley College women’s basketball team scored 63 second half points in its game against Neosho County Wednesday night at W.S. Scott Auditorium as they rallied from a 39-36 halftime deficit to win 99-82. read more

Kaitlyn Potter named Heartland Conference Player of the Week

Arkansas City native and 2018 Cowley College graduate Kaitlyn Potter was recently named the Heartland Conference Player of the week after averaging 22 points per game in a pair of Newman University victories. Potter shot 16-of-30 from the field and 11-of-23 from behind the three-point line while leading the Lady Jets to a 2-0 week. read more

Pole vault champion signs with Southeastern Louisiana University

Cowley College sophomore Thais Lindemayer-Gomes, a two-time NJCAA Division I national champion in the pole vault, signed a letter of intent to compete at NCAA Division I Southeastern Louisiana University. read more

Tiger Booster Club luncheon cancelled out of respect to Legleiter family

The Cowley College Tiger Booster Club Luncheon scheduled for Wednesday, January 16 has been cancelled so individuals can make plans to attend the funeral of Karen Legleiter that morning at 11 at the First United Methodist Church of Arkansas City. read more

Tiger track and field teams open indoor season at Nebraska

The Cowley College track and field teams opened the indoor season by competing Friday and Saturday at the Graduate Classic held at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE. The meet had NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NAIA and community colleges competing. read more

Magician Joseph Tran to perform at Cowley on Jan. 15

With Cowley College students returning for classes on Monday, January 14, magician Joseph Tran hopes to help the students unwind a bit during his performance at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 15 in the Robert Brown Theatre. There is no cost to attend the event. read more

Accomplished journalist to be inducted into Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame

Bob Patterson attended nearly every important Cowley College athletic event during his 20 years as sports editor of the Arkansas City Traveler. The hard-working newspaperman spent more than 60 years as a journalist and will be recognized for his dedication to covering Cowley College athletics by being inducted into the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, January 26, 2019. read more

First-ever two-time volleyball All-American to be inducted into Hall of Fame

Known as the athlete that helped return the Cowley College volleyball team back to prominence, Fernanda Domingos was the program’s first-ever two-time All-American. The hard-hitting Domingos will be recognized for her greatness when she is inducted into the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, January 26. read more

First All-American softball pitcher to be inducted into Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame

With a reputation as a "Pitchers School", Cassi (Vandever) Lund was the first All-American pitcher in the history of the Cowley College softball program. The dominant pitcher will be recognized for her accomplishments when she is inducted into the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, January 26. read more

Cowley World Series teams to be joined at Kansas Hall of Fame by former WSU major leaguers

The Cowley College back-to-back World Series winning 1997 and 1998 teams will be joined by former Wichita State University major leaguers Koyie Hill and Mike Pelfrey, along with former Kansas State University coaches Dave Baker and Brad Hill, as inductees at the Kansas Baseball Hall of Fame’s annual ceremony on January 26 in Wichita, KS. The ceremony will be held at noon at LaVela, 6147 East 13th Street North. read more
