Cowley College to hold 96th Commencement on May 4

A total of 464 students will be candidates for graduation Saturday, May 4 when Cowley College holds its 96th Commencement exercises. The Commencement exercises will be held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. inside W.S. Scott Auditorium. Individuals requiring special seating at Commencement should plan to arrive no later than 9:40 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. read more

Volleyball players return for Alumni Day

The Cowley College volleyball program concluded a successful Alumni Day on Saturday, April 20. The day started with a social at Steamy Joe’s in Arkansas City and then moved to W.S. Scott Auditorium for lunch, followed by the Alumni Match. read more

Zoe Newton to serve as Commencement speaker

Having served on the Kansas Board of Regents from 2014-2018 and served as the Board’s Chair in 2016, Zoe Newton has been selected to be this year’s featured speaker at Cowley College’s Commencement Ceremonies on Saturday, May 4. read more

Lady Tiger softball team continues to roll with sweep of Barton County

After a tough start to the season, the No. 19-ranked Cowley College softball team has rattled off nine wins in its past 10 games following a doubleheader sweep of Barton County Monday in Arkansas City. The Lady Tigers allowed only one run in the victories as they defeated the Cougars 5-1 and 7-0. read more

The Cowley College cheer and dance teams recently attended the DTU College Classic National Invitational April 12-13 in Las Vegas, NV. Preliminary competition was held on Friday and both teams advanced into finals held on Saturday. read more

Friends University is partnering with Cowley College in Arkansas City, KS, on an agreement that allows students to seamlessly transfer into Friends University’s business management bachelor’s degree, with Friends classes offered at the Cowley campus. read more

The Cowley College softball team ran its winning streak to five games in a row with an 8-2 win in the first game of a doubleheader played Friday at Labette Community College. However, the Lady Tigers had its win streak come to an end with a 5-3 loss in the nightcap. read more

Tiger baseball team dominates Fort Scott 17-0 and 16-3

Having lost just once over the past month, the No. 16-ranked Cowley College baseball team continued its winning ways with a pair of convincing wins at Fort Scott on Friday. The Tigers blasted the Greyhounds 17-0 and 16-3 to sweep the four-game series. read more

An expendable scholarship was recently created by friends and family of Chad Speer, who tragically passed away in February at the age of 47. The Chad Speer Memorial Automotive Scholarship at Cowley College will be used for full-time students seeking a degree in the Automotive Tech Program. read more

Phi Theta Kappa Catalyst held in Orlando

Seven members of Alpha Gamma Upsilon, the Ark City chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, and their advisor Deborah Layton recently returned from the 2019 International Convention, PTK Catalyst, held in Orlando, Florida. The super hero-themed convention hosted many events from April 4 – 7. read more

Having graduated from Arkansas City High School in 2018 and gone on to be a stellar student at Cowley College, Erika Hoag was recently awarded the Estelle Hamilton Gottlob Endowed Scholarship to help as she prepares to transfer to Wichita State University. read more

Rodriguez signs to play tennis at University of Northwestern Ohio

With her tennis career at Cowley College nearing a finish, sophomore Mariana Rodriguez recently signed a letter of intent to continue playing tennis at the University of Northwestern Ohio. The NAIA school is located in Lima, Ohio. read more

Moran signs to run cross country and track at Missouri Southern State University

Raye Moran, who came from Anna, Texas to run cross country and track at Cowley College, will continue running at Missouri Southern State University after signing a letter of intent with the Lady Lions. read more

Cowley volleyball to host several camps and clinics

The nationally ranked Cowley College volleyball team will host several camps and clinics over late spring and summer in 2019. These include a Setter/Hitter camp on April 27, a Developmental/All Skills Clinic on May 31, June 1, 22, and 29, a High School camp July 29 and 30, an Elite High School camp July 31, and satellite camps for the months of May, June, and July. The 2019 camps will be directed by the Cowley College coaching staff. read more

Addison named Second Team All-American

Doing a little bit of everything for the Cowley College women’s basketball team, sophomore Kedranea’ Addison was recently named a NJCAA Division I Second Team All-American. Addison becomes the highest selected Lady Tiger All-American in the past 30 seasons. read more
